Where to Find Materials

Most activities use everyday recyclables and household items. Here’s where to find what you need:

Free/Low-Cost Sources:

  • Restaurants and cafes – Ask for extra straws, chopsticks, paper cups
  • Office supply closets – Rubber bands, paper clips, old CDs
  • Libraries and community centers – Supply swaps or maker spaces
  • Buy Nothing groups – Facebook groups for free items in your neighborhood
  • Dollar stores – Balloons, ping pong balls, small fans (under $5 total)
  • Thrift stores – New-in-package toothbrushes, cheap markers
  • Hardware stores – Ask about damaged/opened packages they’ll discount
