Hearing that his neighborhood, his village, came to his aid providing transportation to, and from formative activities is just glorious.

It is wonderful to hear that he returns to Hertford, NC from time to time. It is hoped that local youth in communities throughout Perquimans, Chowan and Pasquotank Counties know that his interest in mathematics led to military service, becoming a decorated commissioned officer, and systems engineer.

Major Crandell, thanks for your service; for sharing your personal story; and for being a STEM role model. You, are an American hero.
