Our big goal at STEM Dreams is to see a marked increase in kids from low-resourced backgrounds (regardless of ethnic background or gender) interested in STEM, decidedly on the path to a rewarding and diverse STEM career.

Dr. Claude M. Hargrove, Ph.D.
Dr. Hargrove received BS degrees in Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering, a M.S. in Computer Engineering, and a PhD in Biological Engineering from North Carolina State University. He worked for Nortel Networks as Member of Scientific Staff until 2002. He served as assistant professor at North Carolina A&T State University from 2003 until 2010 and has since been with UNC Charlotte. Highlights of his professional service includes 5 years as advisor for North Carolina A&T Student Chapter of IEEE, 2 years as section chair of Central North Carolina Section of IEEE and his contributions to North Carolina A&T State University.
Claude now works as a program chair for Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, NC. He has a passion for increasing the number of girls in engineering.

Linda Hargrove, M.S.
Ms. Hargrove earned a BS and MS in Biological and Agricultural Engineering from NC State and went on to work for about five years as an environmental engineer for the state of North Carolina. She has worked as a technical writer, engineering instructor, and contributing civil engineer.
As a first-generational college student from a rural community, Linda has a passion for connecting students with STEM opportunities.
