Most activities use everyday recyclables and household items. Here’s where to find what you need:
Free/Low-Cost Sources:
- Restaurants and cafes – Ask for extra straws, chopsticks, paper cups
- Office supply closets – Rubber bands, paper clips, old CDs
- Libraries and community centers – Supply swaps or maker spaces
- Buy Nothing groups – Facebook groups for free items in your neighborhood
- Dollar stores – Balloons, ping pong balls, small fans (under $5 total)
- Thrift stores – New-in-package toothbrushes, cheap markers
- Hardware stores – Ask about damaged/opened packages they’ll discount
